Jamie Spooner

Jamie Spooner earned her B.A. in Studio Art from Smith College and has worked in a range of creative fields, from teaching art in Switzerland and Florence, to running a web design company in the Bay Area, and developing a video and animation business. No matter the medium, her passion for painting, illustration, and photography has always been at the center of her work.

In her acrylic work Jamie reveals the drama of the early morning light as it fades into the glow of the late afternoon and softly fades into the night. Her signature playful style uses bright color and a knack for capturing glowing light to portray the drama of a simple day on the coast of Maine. Jamie skillfully renders peaceful scenes of coastal days and nights - a wading dog, resting gulls , fishing boats at rest on their moorings, as well as their captains and crew pursuing their daily work. Jamie’s true aim is to create imagery that sparks joy and reflect beauty offering a moment of lightness and warmth to a complex world.
