Textiles & Fiber Art
Fermanagh Farm
Heidi is a fiber artist and shepherd based in Maine, creating cruelty-free felted rugs and accessories from the fleece of her own sheep at Fermanagh Farm. Her work is rooted in traditional Irish and Scottish wet-felting techniques, using methods that rely on wool, water, and movement rather than chemicals or synthetic processes.
Each piece is made from the fleece of a single sheep, allowing the natural color, texture, and character of the wool to shine through. Her sheep are pasture-raised, humanely shorn once a year as part of routine care, and treated as individuals, not commodities.
She creates “sheepskin” rugs without the skin—honoring the animal, the craft, and the land. Her work is slow, intentional, and deeply connected to farm life, sustainability, and respect for both tradition and animal welfare.
