Jewelry & Metalwork
Christine Peters
Inspired by Nature, Created by Hand
Christine Peters is a jewelry artist living and working in Damariscotta, Maine. She creates botanical, nature-inspired jewelry—pieces that echo the textures of seedpods, petals, driftwood, roots, and wind-shaped leaves.
Her work is grounded in traditional metalsmithing, guided by curiosity and material play. Each piece begins with a spark—a season, an image, a quiet walk with her dog—and unfolds as form and texture lead the way.
Where it begins
Christine’s days often start with a walk-through fields or along the shore. Patterns in bark, tiny seed heads, rippling water, and weathered driftwood inform shapes she later sketches or explores directly in metal.
Worked by hand
Christine works primarily in fine silver, sterling silver, and 18k and 22k yellow gold, using time-honored fabrication techniques. Many pieces feature hand-carved textures, fused surfaces, and carefully chosen, light-catching gemstones.
Botanical beauty, distilled
From dandelion brooches to twig-textured rings, each piece is designed to feel like a small treasure—a wearable memory drawn from the natural world.
